Chief of Awutu Nyamoah NKwanta in the Awutu West District of the Central Region, Nana Kwoa Achieni has called on the IGP to intervene in recent landguards activities in the area.

According to Nana Achieni, fear and panic has griped the residents due to the rampant landguards activities in the area.

He has implored Dr. George Akuffo Dampare and other stakeholders to ensure the laws deal with persons caught up by landguard activities.

Whilst calling on Dr. Dampare to reinforce security in the area, Nana Achieni has cautioned those who go behind to seek bail for landguards when they are arrested to desist from that.

“I will call on the IGP, leaders of Ghana and the police at Awutu to all ensure that the laws really work. There are many youth who are jobless and go around peoples property ceasing and breaking down pillars and others. But when such persons are arrested, you see people going behind to bail them. I’ll plead with all stakeholders to ensure the laws deal with such miscreants,” he relayed.

Meanwhile the Asafoakye of Awutu Nyamoah Nkwanta, Mensah Agyin also called on residents of the community to report any landguard attacks to the police.
