A 60-year-old man has been fined a sum of ¢12,000 for having sexual intercourse with his 3 biological daughters at Assin Andoe in the Assin South District of the Central Region.
The fine also included 3 full-grown sheep, crates of assorted drinks and bottles of exotic schnapps.
Kwame Atta, popularly known as Showboy, who admitted to having sexual intercourse with his own daughters pleaded guilty to the incest offense and was charged accordingly.
The 3 daughters whose names are withheld are in their twenties.
Speaking with Rich FM and Onua News’ reporter, Obaapa ABK, the Assin Andoe linguist, Nana Yaw Oteng, said the girls have suffered years of sexual assaults from their father but were afraid to voice out because they feared losing both parents.
“That thing is happening at so many places and the parents threaten to kill the children so they can’t voice out. We are advising those in such situations to report their fathers to their mothers and other relatives to take action on such culprits, if not, it’ll haunt the family.
“Such things cause a whole lot of havoc in the family. The woman’s daughters have changed completely. The one who came to give the false testimony for instance was a very pretty lady with a nice form but look at her appearance now.
She even said she can’t sleep because it appears something is haunting her,” he explained.
