A man believed to be in his late 30s has been subjected to serious beatings rendering him unconscious.
His crime was that, he was caught attempting to behead a woman, injuring another in the process at Gomoa Mamfam in the Gomoa East District of the Central Region.
He has now been dragged to the Awutu Bereku Police Station.
Police sources say the victim went to Gomoa Mamfam new site to behead the woman for money rituals but was eluded by luck when the woman started shouting for some area boys to come to her rescue.
They arrested the suspect after the victim shouted and beat him to pulp.
National Security report has listed the Gomoa East District as a hotspot for criminal activities.
In an interview with Onua News’ Nana Yaw Asare, Kojo Baah, a resident of Awutu Bereku said they were at the police station when they saw somebody inside a kia truck being driven to the station.
Kojo Baah says when they asked the driver of the kia truck what necessitated the move, he told them the suspect tried to kill a woman at Gomoa Mamfam after she denied him food he requested for.
