The Domestic Violence and Victims Support Unit (DOVVSU) of the Twifo Atti-Morkwa District Police Command is on a manhunt for Yaw Obuobi, aged 60 years old, over the alleged defilement of a 12-year-old pupil.
According to the victim’s parent who spoke to 3News.com, “the suspect currently at large baited the survivor with GHC5.00 and cautioned her to remain tight-lipped after the incident.”
The parent however witnessed a significant change in the behavior of the victim. She could barely walk, prompting an interrogation.
Subsequently, the girl opened up to the parent which led to the filing of a complaint at the police station.
The suspect however could not be arrested as he bolted before police could arrive at his residence.
The Twifo Atti-Morkwa District Police Commander, Superintendent Charles Addai Boateng who confirmed the incident and assured the public of investigating the matter to a conclusive ending, called on the “public to volunteer information that would lead to the arrest of the suspect”.
