The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced new dates for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) and the 2024 Africa Women’s Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
The dates were reached at an Executive Committee meeting held on Friday, June 21.
Per decision, the 2024 AFCON, scheduled for Morocco, will begin on Sunday, December 21, 2025 and end on Sunday, January 18, 2026.
This will mean the football festival on the continent will run across the Christmas break.
The women’s edition, which was originally scheduled for June-July, will take place from Saturday, July 5, 2025 to Saturday, July 26, 2025.
It will also be held in Morocco.
