A 32-year-old mobile money vendor, Eric Bans, is in critical condition after he was shot by suspected armed robbers at Agona Mankrong Junction in the Agona East district of the Central region.

According to eyewitnesses, the armed robbers attacked the vendor and shot him before escaping with an undisclosed amount of money.

The victim was first rushed to the Swedru Government Hospital. Due to the severity of his injuries, he has since been transferred to the Cape Coast Government Hospital for further treatment.

The Agona Swedru District Police Command has launched an investigation into the incident.

The police are appealing to members of the public with credible information to come forward to assist in arresting the suspects.

Residents in the area are also calling for increased police patrols, especially at vantage points like Agona Mankrong Junction, to deter criminal activities.
