Ghana Premier League champions FC Samartex beat fellow 2024 failed CAF inter-club campaigners Nsoatreman FC  2-0 in their delayed game at the Nsenkyire Sports Arena.

The Week 6 game was rained off on Sunday and so had to be rescheduled for Monday.

The Timber Giants scored two first-half goals in the rescheduled encounter to return to winning ways in the League.

Under one minute, Akwasi Sarpong opened the scoring for the defending champions before Felix Koduah extended the lead in the 10th minute.

The win lifts the Westerners into the Top 4 for the first time since the start of the season.

It is only their second win of the season despite not having lost so far.

Monday’s result makes their next game, against Asante Kotoko, on Sunday a cracker.

The two sides are yet to lose this season with Kotoko second on the log despite playing one game less.
