Ningo Prampram lawmaker, Samuel Nartey George, has said he stands in solidarity with his colleague MP and Majority Chief Whip, Rockson-Nelson Etsi Kwami Dafeamekpor, following his suspension from Parliament.
The lawmaker was suspended with three others from the Minority caucus over the mayhem that erupted in Parliament on Thursday, January 30, 2025, during the Appointments Committee’s sitting.
At the sitting, members on the Minority caucus objected to the vetting of more ministerial nominees which resulted in fisticuffs, leading to the destruction of tables and microphones in the room.
Dafeamekpor, who was captured in video vehemently opposing to the destruction that was being created by the Minority, where one of the Minority MPs, Alhassan Tampuli, holding unto his smock to fight him, was counted amongst the culprits of the disturbances by the Speaker.
He was therefore made to suffer the punishment handed the Minority MPs by the Speaker to equally undergo a two-week suspension.
The disruptions had occurred some minutes after the vetting of Samuel Nartey George as Communications Minister-designate.

“To the people of South Dayi, you gave us a warrior, a leader, an advocate and a brother’s brother. Protect him for us. This storm too shall pass!” he added.
Sam George’s message shows the bond and camaraderie that exist within the Majority caucus and their collective resolve to support each other in such troubling moments, with his words of encouragement and solidarity depicting the his utmost respect and admiration for Mr. Dafeamekpor.
