The campaign of John Dramani Mahama has recently seen some retired security officers joining the trail.

John Mahama’s ‘Building Ghana Tour’ is currently in the Eastern region after visiting the Ashanti region.

The past few days have seen Commissioner of Police (COP) Nathan Kofi Boakye (Rtd), former CID boss COP Bright Oduro (Rtd), former IGP Mohammed Alhassan, all joining the campaign of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in their bid to wrestle power from the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).

The retired security chiefs have joined the tour at the behest of former President John Dramani Mahama.

It is unclear what the motivation of the former security chiefs are, but details are emerging that they believe John Mahama has the key to take the country out of the current economic quagmire.

Kofi Boakye’s close relationship with John Mahama is no secret with many speculating that he has interest in becoming a running mate to the NDC’s presidential candidate.
