In a renewed clampdown on illegal pharmaceutical imports, officials at the Tema Port have intercepted a large consignment of high-strength Tramadol concealed in cargo linked to Hayaq Logistics.
The seizure, made by the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) in collaboration with the Customs Division, involved two separate batches of KIMAKING-branded Tramadol totaling over half a million tablets and capsules.
The consignment was flagged for violating key provisions of the Revenue Administration and Customs Acts, marking yet another major drug bust at one of Ghana’s busiest ports.
Ghana Revenue Authority’s Customs Division and the Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) have intensified efforts to curb smuggling of banned and illicit drugs.
This move underscores the government’s commitment to tackling drug abuse, which has seen a recent surge in the country. By clamping down on illicit drug smuggling, the authorities have demonstrated a strong commitment to protecting citizens’ health and safety.
This initiative is crucial in reducing the availability and accessibility of dangerous substances, ultimately curbing the rising tide of drug abuse in the country and promoting a healthier society.
