The Dadiaso Government Hospital has received a brand-new washing machine, donated through an offering collected during the National Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving held on July 1, 2025.

The event, which was organised by the Suaman District Assembly in collaboration with the Local Council of Churches at Dadieso, formed part of the nationwide prayer initiative called by President John Dramani Mahama. As part of the programme, congregants made voluntary contributions to support a local cause.

According to the Chairman of the Local Council of Churches, Very Rev. Abraham Boafo, the decision to support the hospital was made after consultation with the District Chief Executive (DCE), Vasco Obour.

“The President encouraged every citizen to pray and thank God, so we also decided, together with the DCE, to raise an offering to support a pressing community need,” Rev. Boafo stated.

“After the service, we visited the hospital and inquired about their challenges. The administrator mentioned they urgently needed a washing machine to clean hospital linens and other materials,” he disclosed.

Mr. Obour noted that although the offering raised was not enough to purchase the machine outright, the Council decided to top up the remaining amount to ensure the hospital received the equipment.

The donation was officially handed over Theresa Bosomtwe, who expressed gratitude on behalf of the management and staff. She assured that the machine would be well maintained and put to good use.

DCE Vasco Obour also commended the Local Council of Churches for their initiative and support. He recalled that shortly after assuming office, the hospital had submitted a proposal requesting assistance to purchase a washing machine due to operational challenges.

When the idea of a national day of prayer was announced, I saw it as an opportunity to raise support locally. I engaged the church leadership, and they agreed to organise an offering to support the hospital, Mr. Obour explained.

He further disclosed that the hospital has made another appeal for air conditioners to be installed in the children’s ward, citing extreme heat conditions. Though the request has been approved, I believe the current rainy season will temporarily reduce the heat. I assure them that after the season, I will ensure the air conditioners are provided.

Mr. Obour reaffirmed the Assembly’s commitment to addressing the hospital’s needs and pledged continued support to improve healthcare delivery in the district.
