Debutants Young Apostles on Sunday, November 17 pulled one of the stunners so far in the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League.
They went to the dreaded Nsenkyire Sports Arena in Samreboi in the Western Region to beat defending champions FC Samartex by a lone goal on Matchday 11 of the League.
Samuel Prempeh’s strike in the 48th minute gave the Wenchi-based side the maximum points over the champions.
The win comes exactly three days after Young Apostles officially parted ways with coach Joseph Asare Bediako, who was appointed after the promotion of the side to the Ghana Premier League.
Sunday’s win sees the debutants move to the 10th position with 13 points.
Conversely, the results see the Timber Giants, who played without their left full back Isaac Afful in the Black Stars camp, drop to sixth with 17 points.
FC Samartex’s next game will be against another debutant in this season’s league, Basake Holy Stars.
Young Apostles, on the other hand, will welcome Medeama SC to the Wenchi Park next week.
