Winner of the Most Promising Lady at the Ghana Women Awards (GWA) 24, Therestella Obosu Tei-Kwabla has called on the youth, especially the young ladies not to let their unfortunate past prevent them from pursuing their dreams.
The Pharmacist and Philanthropist recounted how she was looked down upon and despised by even her peers which affected her self confidence and nearly caused her to accept that she was a failure.
“Back in school, I wasn’t an all-A student, and there were moments I felt rejected by friends. But I never stopped working hard and believing in God’s purpose for my life. Today, He has crowned those efforts with success, and even those who once laughed at me now reach out to tell me how well I’m doing,” she recounted.
According to her, God has a unique plan for everyone therefore people must learn to celebrate others in their moment of success, because their time will come too.
Therestella Obosu was recognized and awarded as a young leader striving to make a difference in the healthcare industry and supporting underserved communities.
“Being the youngest amongst these great women to receive such a coveted national award is very humbling and a source of motivation to other young people.
I am incredibly grateful to God for how far He has brought me, and I dedicate this award to my late father, Mr. Joseph Clifford Obosu, former Deputy Director at DTTL, DVLA. His legacy and values continue to inspire me every day” Therestella mentioned.
She also entreated parents and guardians not to give up on their wards when they go wayward or don’t meet their expectations but continue to give them the needed emotional and social support because with time they will achieve success.
