The Member of Parliament for Assin South, John Ntim Fordjour, has admonished residents of his constituency to vote against National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the upcoming elections.

He has asked them to reject the opposition’s reset agenda led by its flag bearer, John Dramani Mahama, and go for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, whom he says has what it takes to put Ghana on the path of development.

According to him, voting for John Mahama and the NDC will hinder progress in the constituency and the country at large.

Speaking to the media after filing his nomination at the Electoral Commission’s (EC) office in the Assin South constituency, he reemphasised that John Mahama’s historic defeat in 2016 was due to his poor performance, and the lack of new ideas for any development for the citizenry.

He has, however, touted the achievements of the NPP government in Assin South saying the constituency was not part of the NDC’s plan when it comes to development.

The Deputy Minister of Education contends the NDC’s message of resetting the country is a farce since it destroyed the foundation that was laid by John Agyekum Kufuor.

“The development of this constituency depends on Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia who would become President. If you vote for Mahama…, he did not remember Assin South in any of the things he did here, including his E-blocks so he will not do any proper thing for this place.

“So, on December 07, we should vote massively for Dr. Bawumia and give him at least 80% of the votes because he is humble, truthful and he knows Assin South and whenever he comes, he helps us. He is coming to help us complete our roads and the Agenda 111,” he stated.

Talking about his government’s achievement in education, Ntim Fordjour added that “when it comes to education, all the secondary schools have gotten their buses. When it comes to basic school, myself, the DCE and the President and his Vice have all contributed. We have an NPP landmark everywhere in this constituency.”

“Kufuor set this nation on the path of development only to be destroyed by late President Mills and Mahama. That’s why we voted against him in his first term in the history of our Fourth Republic,” Fordjour added.
