Finance analyst Joe Jackson, has advised the President-elect, John Dramani Mahama, not to use the courts in his attempt to recover the funds stolen by some individuals from the State.

He believes the application of legal processes to recover the loots will elongate the matter and may possibly yield no results in the end.

According to the Chief Operations Officer at Dalex Finance, Mahama should leverage on his Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL) committee to use Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) to take back what belongs to the state.

Mr. Jackson believes Ghanaians are not interested in people rotting in jail for defrauding the state, but rather the recovery of the funds they stole to embark on other developmental projects.

The finance analyst who has declared his support for the ORAL, speaking on Onua TV’s special coverage ahead of the Presidential Inauguration Monday, January 06, 2025, indicated that going to court will be a fight in perpetuity.

He told host of the show, Captain Smart, that the government should prioritise seizing properties of culprits if necessary, in place of the monies they have stolen for the State to benefit.

“My advice to the President-elect is that ORAL should not be about court matters. The team should just invite those who have looted state funds and tell them to bring the money quietly without indulging in any legal tussle.

“We are not interested in imprisoning people but rather the retrieval of our monies. Else, we’ll trek in court in perpetuity. We should use ADR to address this and not the courts. If we need to seize their properties, we should seize and use the proceeds to do something for the state rather than wasting time in court,” he advised.

He stated that Ghanaians will be so much satisfied with the new government even if it fails to do nothing but recover the loot made by some greedy and corrupt individuals in power.
