Prestea Huni Valley Municipal Assembly has taken delivery of equipment under the District Road Improvement Project (DRIP) initiative.

The consignment includes, 2 concrete mixers, 3 water tankers,2 bulldozers and a compactor.

The District Road Improvement Project (DRIP) initiative aims to enhance road networks across Ghana’s districts, boosting economic development and connectivity.

Residents within the Prestea Huni Valley Municipality were all smiles as they observed a short handing over ceremony of the DRIP consignment to their district.

Speaking at the handing over ceremony, the former Member of Parliament for Prestea, Barbara Oteng Gyasi emphasized DRIP significance in improving road infrastructure in the district as most of roads in the Municipality are in disrepair, making this intervention timely.

She praised the Akufo-Addo government for its swift response to the district’s infrastructure needs.

“Most of the roads in the municipality are in a very bad state. Drivers are complaining as they spend their hard- earned money in buying car parts due to bad state of our roads….farm produce are being left to rot as we are unable to get car to convey farm produce to the market,” he said.

On his part, Municipal Chief Executive Isaac Dasmani is poised to leverage the DRIP initiative to reshape roads in the municipality.

“Some key roads have been earmarked for immediate reshaping to start come next week to make them motorable” he said.

He stressed his outfit will utilize the DRIP equipment judiciously.

” We will keenly monitor the operations of the DRIP equipment. I won’t entertain the use of equipment for any side jobs…we will activate the trackers and strictly monitor the movement of the equipment” he said.

He further called upon the media and the general public to help track the movement of the equipment to ensure they are used responsibly
