The Eastern Regional Coordinating Council has opened a book of condolence in honor of the late Dr. Omane Boamah, whose passing has been described as a significant loss to the region and the nation at large.
In a heartfelt tribute, the Eastern Regional Minister described the late Defense Minister as a visionary leader and a proud son of the Eastern Region.
“Dr. Omane Boamah was not only a pillar of national service but also a shining example of the Eastern Region’s tradition of producing leaders of integrity, courage, and vision,” she said.
His passing is not just a loss to the country it is a deep wound to the heart of the Eastern Region. We have been robbed of one of our finest, a man whose life was marked by service, sacrifice, and an unshakable love for his country and his people.”

She emphasized his deep connection to his roots in the Eastern Region.
“From the soil of our homeland, he rose to the highest levels of national leadership, yet he never forgot where he came from. He carried the Eastern Region in his heart, and his achievements brought pride to people throughout the region.”

The Eastern Regional Minister highlighted Dr Omane Boamah’s contributions to national security and unity.
“He served our nation with courage and vision, fortifying our peace and protecting our sovereignty. His leadership in strengthening the Ghana Armed Forces, and his tireless commitment to unity and national security, will remain an enduring legacy.”

She expressed hope that his legacy would continue to inspire future generations.
“The Eastern Region will remember him not only for the office he held but for the man he was principled, humble, and devoted to the service of his people. May we, the people of the Eastern Region, draw strength from the example our brother Dr. Omane Boamah set to serve with integrity, love without reservation, and give our best to the Eastern Region and to Ghana.”
Dr Edward Omane Boamah hails from the Eastern Region where he had his basic and Second Cycle Education at Pope John Senior High School and Minor Seminary.
