The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced a scheduled power outage in several communities as it undertakes emergency maintenance works to improve service delivery.
According to ECG, the exercise will take place on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, from 10:00am to 3:00pm.
Areas expected to be affected include Abotareye, Hiawa, Nkakaa, Manso Amenfi, Akyekyere, Bonuama, Suroso, Asankragwa, Mota, Kwesi Bokoro, Aboi Nkwata, Dunkwa, Enhie, Samreboi, Moseaso, Asakra Breman, Odumasi and surrounding communities.
The company explained that the temporary interruption in power supply is necessary to allow its technical teams to carry out critical maintenance works aimed at improving the reliability and stability of electricity supply in the affected areas.
ECG has apologised for the inconvenience the outage may cause and appealed to residents and businesses to bear with the situation as efforts are made to enhance service delivery.
In a related development, ECG has attributed the ongoing power outage in parts of Ashongman in Accra to a fault on an underground high-tension (HT) cable at Agbogba.
In a notice to customers, ECG’s Accra East Region said the fault has disrupted electricity supply to areas including Ashongman Atakora Estate, Ashongman Aggies Spot, and surrounding communities.
The company assured residents that its engineers are actively working to fix the problem and restore power as quickly as possible.
ECG appealed to affected customers to exercise patience while repair works continue.
