The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has assured residents of North, Central and North Tongu that their over-billing challenges are being addressed.

The ECG said the situation will be resolved once an ongoing meter audit is completed.

“The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) Limited wishes to inform our cherished customers, especially those affected by the Akosombo Dam spillage within the North, Central and South Tongu Districts, that their over-billing challenge, which is mainly due to non-reading of their post-paid meters is being addressed,” Management of the power supply company said in a public notice sighted by 3News on February 8.

Accordning to the ECG, it “is undertaking a comprehensive meter audit within the affected communities to reconcile the accounts involved and ensure the replacement of their faulty meters without a fee.”

“Affected customers are encouraged to cooperate with ECG during the exercise,” the managers of ECG urged.
