Some prison officers and inmates at Dromankuma, a town near Ejura in the Ejura Sekyedumase district of the Ashanti region have physically assaulted a 24-year-old man named Franklin Agyekum.

The victim who is currently battling for his life at the Ejura Government Hospital, according to his auntie, Lydia Acheampong, was running an errand for his mother Tuesday morning, June 04, 2024, when the incident occurred.

Madam Acheampong explains that Agyekum was nearly knocked down by a motor of the prison officers who were on their way to work.

She says a misunderstanding ensued in the process, where the officers, together with some inmates they carried along, assaulted the young man.

Numbering over 10, the prison officers and the inmates pounced on the young man and beat him mercilessly, hitting him with woods and inflicting pepper spray in his eyes.

The young man bled profusely according to available videos intercepted by OnuaOnline.

“The young man is totally bleeding through his mouth he has loose plenty blood. We reported the case to the first in command at Ejura Prison Camp but we didn’t hear anything from them.

“We have reported the case to Ejura Sekyedumase Divisional police Headquarters, whiles we are waiting to hear from them,” Agyekum’s auntie added.
