Spiritualist and 2020 independent parliamentary candidate for Offinso North, Nana Kwaku Bonsam, has thrown his support for the National Democratic Congress in the upcoming election.
The notorious fetish priest has said his support for the opposition party stems from what he describes as a novel policy from its flag bearer, John Dramani Mahama.
Speaking on Mabatoɔ, a political show on Akoma 87.9FM in Kumasi Thursday, May 16, 2024, the spiritualist admonished the citizenry to choose amongst the contestants, someone who can propel the development of the nation.
According to Kwaku Bonsam, Mahama’s 24-hour economic policy will ease the systemic strain and create jobs to reduce the teeming unemployment in the country.
“Let’s elect a leader who will contribute to the nation’s development. You can support Cheddar or the NPP, but I support John Mahama because I believe in a 24-hour economy. The country’s unemployment will decline and new jobs will be generated thanks to the policy,” he indicated.
As an independent candidate, Kwaku Bonsam says the poor performance of President Akufo-Addo, particularly in his second term, has made him join the NDC, with the hope that they will offer something better for Ghanaians.
”President Akufo Addo has not done well at all, particularly during his second term. Although he was performing admirably during his first term, I am quite dissatisfied with the way he has handled the economy during his second term,” he said.
”The New Patriotic Party in my opinion, cannot break the eight,” he concluded.
The general elections in Ghana is scheduled to take place on December 07, 2024.
