Flag bearer of the National Democratic Congress, John Dramani Mahama, has commenced series of engagements with opinion leaders in northern Ghana ahead of the 2024 general elections.

The move is to solicit ideas for victory in his comeback to seek reelection after his defeat to President Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in the 2016 and 2020 presidential polls.

Accompanied by former Minority Leader and Member of Parliament for Tamale South, Haruna Iddrissu, John Mahama has strategised efforts at re-energizing the north in their support for the NDC and his presidential bid.

The engagements follow a resumption of his ‘Building Ghana Tour’ which began about two months ago. He explained on X November 3, 2023, prior to its commencement that it was aimed at boosting the party’s prospects for victory in 2024 through “collective effort, unity, and national cohesion.”

The Tour also highlights some of Mahama’s values, such as active citizen participation and advocacy for progress as key to shaping the future of Ghana.

Below are some scenes from his engagement with some opinion leaders in the north.
