The Namibian President, Nangolo Mbumba, has congratulated President-Elect, John Dramani Mahama of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
This follows the electoral victory in the December 7 2024 general elections in Ghana.
This is contained in a press release dated December 9 and signed by the Press Secretary, Alfredo Tjiurimo Hengari.
In his message of felicitations, President Nangolo Mbumba says: “On behalf of the people and Government of the Republic of Namibia, I extend heartfelt congratulations to President-Elect John Dramani Mahama and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for their exceptional victory in the general elections held on the 7th of December 2024. This historic
election reflects the unwavering commitment of the Ghanaian people to democracy and the rule of law.
The Namibian President noted that, “The election H.E. Mahama is a testament to the trust of Ghanian in his leadership and unwavering commitment to the development of the people of Ghana.
“Namibia and Ghana share deep bonds of friendship and cooperation, which are rooted in the struggle of the Namibian people for independence. Since independence, our bilateral relations have grown in leaps and bounds. I look forward to working closely with President-Elect John Dramani Mahama to further strengthen these ties for the mutual benefit
of our nations,” President Nangolo Mbumba stated.
He wished the President-elect well. “As H.E. Mahama embarks on the important mandate of leading Ghana, I wish him wisdom, resilience, and success in fulfilling the aspirations of the Ghanaian people. May his leadership consolidate growth, unity, and prosperity for the fraternal people of Ghana,” he said.
