The Ministry of Energy has announced a gas supply disruption due to compressor damage on Tullow Oil’s Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) vessel, Kwame Nkrumah.

According to a circular signed by Ministry Spokesperson Richmond Rockson on Sunday, May 11, 2025, the fault on the Jubilee Oil field’s FPSO has caused the disruption.

“On Saturday May 10, 2025 around 4pm, damage of a compressor on the Jubilee FPSO Kwame Nkrumah has led to a temporary suspension of gas supply,” he stated.

He added that “initial assessments suggest the need for significant repairs. The team is currently working diligently to implement necessary repairs to restore supply of gas as soon as possible.”

Richmond Rockson assured the public of providing further updates to the public as and when information becomes available.

FPSO Kwame Nkrumah is a Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) vessel which operates in the Jubilee Oil fields off the coast of Ghana. She is named after the first President of Ghana, Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah.
