Emmanuel Armah Kofi Buah, Member of Parliament for Ellembele in the Western Region, has questioned how many times Ghanaians can “accept the mistakes” of the Electoral Commission without it being seen as “crushing their will” in the lead-up to Election 2024.
Speaking to journalists on the sidelines of his party’s “Enough is Enough” demonstration in Takoradi, Mr. Kofi Buah insisted that the alleged “mistakes of the EC” since the process for Election 2024 began are “one too many.”
“We all want not just a free and fair election but to also see that the processes leading to the election are without doubt.
“…So this protest is a call to all peace-loving Ghanaians. What we are doing is to save Ghana. We want our country to move forward; we don’t want any trouble.”
He is bemused that people would “fail” to realize that only a “credible voter register” can guarantee a “credible election.”
“We have presented enough evidence for everyone to see that the register in its current form raises questions and casts doubt on the upcoming election. It is scary that when citizens point out something as serious as this, which could affect the sanctity of the election, a group would gang up against them.”
