A 37-year-old carpenter has been arrested by the Eastern South Regional Police Command for allegedly killing someone at Kyebi Newtown in the Abuakwa South municipality of the Eastern region.
According to a statement from the Eastern South police, the suspect is said to have slashed the throat of the deceased with a cutlass after a misunderstanding ensued between them on Saturday, November 15, 2025.
The Police upon receipt of a distress call deployed detectives and crime scene management team to the scene for investigations to commence.
On arriving at the scene, a male adult body identified as Jonas Bash was found.
The body has since been deposited at the Kyebi Government Hospital morgue for subsequent referral to the Police Hospital in Accra for autopsy and preservation.
The suspect is in police custody and would be processed for the court as investigations continue.
