The 40-year-old farmer who defiled his 13-year-old daughter at Klo Agogo in the Eastern Region, Michael Asare, has been sentenced to 20 years in prison.
The sentence was handed down by Justice Kwesi Appiatse Abaidoo of the Odumase Circuit on June 12.
It is recalled that the Asesewa Police arrested a 40-year-old Michael, for defiling his 13-year-old daughter at Klo Agogo in the Yilo Krobo municipality of the Eastern Region.
According to the victim, she lives in the same room with her father, Michael, who forcibly had sex with her on several occasions.
She alleged that during the sexual act, her father gagged her by putting cloths into her mouth to prevent her from shouting.
The Victim reported the incident to the Assembly Member of the area Herold Kofi Kumah, who also made a complaint to the Obawale Police and the suspect was arrested on June 9, 2026.
The Assembly Member confirmed the incident in an interview with Onuaonline’s Nenebi Ayertey David. He said, he has handed the suspect to the Police for further action.
Meanwhile, Michael has pleaded guilty for sleeping with her own daughter. The Asesewa Divisional Police Commander is yet to process the suspect to court for prosecution.
