The final funeral services for the late highlife icon Dada KD will take place on Saturday, August 16, 2025.
The funeral date was announced by the family at Dada KD’s one-week observation held at the East Legon Executive Club over the weekend.
The renowned musician’s funeral service will be held at the forecourt of the State House in Accra. He will be given a state-assisted burial .
Family, relatives, and members of Ghana’s music industry came together to honor his memory during his one-week observation.
Alongside traditional elders and other industry players, prominent individuals in attendance were music celebrities Kojo Antwi, Kaakyire Kwame Appiah, Daddy Bosco, Fred Kyei Mensah, Koka, and Nana Romeo.
Following the State House ceremony, Dada KD will be interred in his hometown, Agona Asangman in the Ashanti Region. A thanksgiving service will also be held there on Sunday, August 17.
The family has requested that all mourners observe a black-and-white dress code to symbolise the celebration of a life well lived.
Dada KD passed away on May 17 after a brief illness, leaving behind a rich legacy in Ghanaian music. The upcoming funeral is expected to attract fans, dignitaries, and fellow musicians from across the country who wish to pay their final respects to one of Ghana’s most cherished highlife voices.
