Black Stars and Leicester City forward Abdul Fatawu Issahaku has undergone successful surgery on his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL).

He is “okay and I am feeling good after the surgery”.

Issahaku picked up the injury in Ghana’s 1-1 draw against Angola in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier on Friday, November 15.

The former Sporting Lisbon player went down in the first half and despite continuing playing was substituted in the second half.

He was among six players who withdrew from the final qualifier against Niger.

He is scheduled to be out between six and nine months.
