A FIFA delegation will be in Bolgatanga this week to spread awareness on women’s football in Ghana.

Women’s football has become an important bit of football development across many countries and Ghana has been one of the countries to have taken to the new disposition.

In addition to the visit, there will be a mini-girl football tournament for the U-15 and U-13 girls in the Northern and Upper East & West Regions.

The organization, which is currently campaigning to champion the growth of women’s football in Ghana, will collaborate with the Upper East, Upper West and Northern regional football association chairmen to improve grassroots development of the game.

According to Ama Brobey Williams, the head of Women’s Football Development at the Ghana Football Association (GFA), this initiative will help raise awareness on women’s football development which has become one of the sole aims of Football Associations.

The girls will also get the opportunity to share their ideas and the progress made in the sport will be highlighted.

Ms. Ama Williams and the delegation from FIFA will address radio stations in the town to outline the many improvements the Football Association has made to women’s football in this country as well as the many plans for continuous growth.
