Former President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Kwesi Nyantakyi has missed out on his attempt to enter Parliament after losing the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary Primary for Ejisu Constituency.

The banned football administrator polled 35 out of the valid votes cast to come 5th in the seven-man contest.

Before the votes on Saturday, April 13, Mr Nyantakyi was hospitalised and had to be aided to the voting center to cast his ballot.

During the campaign, the legal practitioner-cum-lecturer said he was the Ronaldo to replace deceased lawmaker John Ampontuah Kumah.

However, the results did not go his way.

Lawyer Kwabena Boateng secured a landslide victory with 393 votes. He will lead the NPP in the April 30 by-election as they seek to retain the seat.
