Former Asante Kotoko midfielder Michael Akuffu decided not to answer a question on the current XI asked him on live radio.

He admitted that he does not know any of the players let alone name the starting XI.

Michael Akuffu, who won the Ghana Premier League twice with the Porcupine Warriors, was on Onua FM‘s Sports Center on Thursday, May 23.

He was speaking on the upcoming encounter between his former club and their archrivals Hearts of Oak.

He said the current crop of players do not stay long in the domestic season, making it difficult for them to become household names.

As a result, most of them are not known, he said, unlike the past when players spend years in the league before traveling abroad for greener pastures.

This he conceded is the reason why it will be difficult for him to name the starting XI of the two major clubs in Ghana.

Kotoko will host Hearts of Oak on Sunday at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in a Matchday 31 game.

The hosts currently lie 10th on the log with 40 points while Hearts are 12th with 38 points.
