A two-term former Managing Director of Ghana Water Limited ing. Dr. Clifford Braimah has filed nomination to contest as Savannah Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

The aspiring regional chairman expressed optimism that the current critical period of the party in opposition, needs a leader who will be a unifier to bring all members on board to work as a team and family to secure victory for the party, come 2028.

Speaking to journalists after filing his nomination on July 17, Dr Clifford Braimah said, he is answering a call from grassroots members who want experienced leadership.

“Our party needs unity, strategy, and discipline to win back power. At this period of our rebuilding, what I have to do is to devote my time, energy and attention to bringing all our members together as we navigate the into the territories of our opponents to understand that the victory of the NPP is assured and everyone must be ready to support the party.”

“I have been Northern Regional Secretary before and won many seats for the party. As MD of Ghana water limited, I worked for the party, and this is the time the party needs my experience in the frontline,” he said.

Ing. Clifford maintained that he decided to offer himself as a contestant for the chairmanship position, after careful consideration, adding, ‘‘the party must get someone with a proven track record to work very hard with the rank and file to arrest the dwindling fortunes of the party in the region.’’

“I know the political terrain of the region very well and I am the right person to prescribe solutions to solve the numerous problems confronting the party.’’

The aspiring regional chairman used the occasion to appeal to delegates to vote for him to steer the party to victory in Election 2028.

Reactions from supporters

Supporters of the New Patriotic Party who were present at the filing, described the move as welcoming, timely and necessary.

“We need someone who is well experienced and willing to work and also knows the base and with Dr Clifford in the forefront, we are optimistic of winning majority in the region,” a supporter said.
