Garage Lounge, the East Legon nightlife staple that helped define Accra’s after-hours scene, has officially announced it will shut its doors for good after 5½ unforgettable years.

Known for its electric atmosphere, high-energy music, and loyal following, Garage’s closure marks the end of a cultural era in Ghana’s entertainment landscape.

In an emotional farewell statement posted on Instagram, the management of Garage reflected on their journey and thanked the thousands who made the space more than just a lounge.

What started as a bold idea turned into a movement,” the statement read. “A place where Accra came alive with music, flavour, culture, and unforgettable memories.”

The message celebrated the community built through shared nights of music, laughter, and connection. “We’ve hosted thousands of nights, countless cheers, and built a community we’ll never forget.

Garage became more than a venue—it was a destination for artists, creatives, and revelers alike. From exclusive DJ sets to surprise celebrity appearances, the lounge embodied the pulse of modern Accra nightlife.

To everyone who ever danced, drank, celebrated, worked, performed, or found themselves at Garage, thank you,” the post continued, affirming that this is not “goodbye forever,” but rather the closing of a powerful chapter.

The final night at Garage is set for Sunday, June 29, 2025, with management inviting patrons to join them for one last celebration. “We came. We saw. We conquered,” the post concludes.

While the reasons behind the closure remain undisclosed, the impact of Garage on Accra’s social scene is undeniable.
