The President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku, has been named the Second Vice President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
This was made known by President of the C onfederation Dr Patrice Motsepe at a media briefing in Accra on Saturday.
The appointment of the GFA President comes barely two months after he was elected as a member of the Executive Committee of CAF.
Kurt Okraku, who has been at the helm of Ghana football since October, 2019, contested the CAF Exco elections unopposed as the President of the West African Football Union (WAFU).
He became the first Ghanaian after Kwesi Nyantakyi to assume the role.
With his appointment as the Second Vice President of CAF, Kurt Okraku also becomes the first Ghanaian after Nyantakyi to occupy the enviable position.
