The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has announced a new management committee for the senior national men’s soccer team, the Black Stars.
Chairman of the committee is Executive Council member Dr Randy Abbey, who is the President of Ghana Premier League leaders Heart of Lions.
He will be assisted by former captain of the Black Stars Stephen Appiah.
“In addition to chairing the committee, Dr Abbey shall lead engagement with government and other stakeholders,” a statement by the Association said.
Stephen Appiah is expected to focus on player relations.
Other members of the committee are Greater Accra Regional FA Chairman Samuel Aboabire, Medeama SC President Moses Armah, and President of Ghana Premier League champions FC Samartex Richard Nsenkyire.
The GFA explained that the committee’s duties will include the overall effective management and setting the strategic plan and activities of the team, serving as a link between the Technical Team and the GFA, ensuring adequate camping arrangements, providing logistical support and paying regular visits to the team in camp.
The Committee, according to the FA, shall in consultation with the Head Coach and Technical Team prepare and ensure the team’s adherence to Activity Schedules for all matches and tournaments.
