The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) has said its helicopter, Z9, has gone off radar.

The GAF in a statement says the helicopter took off around 9 a.m. from Accra, to Obuasi in the Ashanti region on Wednesday, August 6, 2025.

Information reaching OnuaOnline indicates that the aircraft reportedly crashed at Adansi Brofoyedu, near Akrofuom in the Ashanti Region.

Sources from the ground indicate that the aircraft and its occupants have been completely burnt beyond recognition.

According to the statement, efforts are being made to establish contact.

The statement added that there were three crew members and five passengers on board.
