John Dramani Mahama has said the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) will win “absolute majority” in Parliament in the ongoing polls.
Speaking to the media after casting his ballot in the Bole-Bamboi constituency, he said “I predict more than 150 Members of Parliament” for the NDC after the exercise.
John Mahama was expressing optimism over the NDC’s victory after the elections saying the direction of the exercise was obvious that his party is winning after the counting.
He said the hardship facing Ghanaians was enough to make people vote the NPP out of power.
He explained that Ghana needs a more experienced hand to redeem the nation from its current state considering the level of destruction caused by the ruling government.
“This is one election that almost everybody can see what the results will be. Other elections have been, not as obvious, but with this one, everybody in the country knows where it is going and that because of the abysmal performance of the Bawumia/Akufo-Addo government, the situation of our economy, the hardship people are facing, the increasing unemployment and all the difficulties Ghanaians are going through, we need somebody who is more experienced, who knows how to run things to take over and rescue this country,” he stated.
He also expressed his satisfaction with the process saying it has been successful so far.
“The process as I’ve seen it here is smooth, very easy, it didn’t take more than 3 minutes for me to finish voting in both the presidential and parliamentary. If it is the same everywhere in the country, I think we’ll have a successful election,” he stated.
