The National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Johnson Asiedu Nketia has expressed confidence in the party’s victory after the upcoming polls on December 7.

Speaking at the party’s final rally on Thursday, December 5, 2024, Asiedu Nketia said Ghanaians have made a decision which is to elect John Mahama as the next president of Ghana.

He noted that Ghana will have its first female Vice-President after December 7 polls. Johnson Asiedu Nketia charged the party supporters and Ghanaians to massively vote for the NDC.

“Let us protect that vote until it becomes a declaration…The message is loud and clear and that message which I want to deliver to His Excellency John Mahama is that the people of Ghana have decided to return you to the Presidency whether you like it or not,” he said addressing party supporters at Zurak park in Madina.

The party’s national chairman said it is time for the NDC to reset Ghana’s democracy, hence called unto Ghanaians to strive for an absolute majority in Parliament for the NDC.

“Ghanaians want absolute majority of our candidates elected in Parliament…I am convinced that we are returning back into government with a very strong majority in Parliament.

“We need a strong majority to be able to undertake the institutional reforms that are necessary to reset out democracy,” he stated.
