Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, flag bearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), is the man of the moment, particularly regarding Ghana’s current circumstances, former President John Agyekum Kufuor, has indicated.

He has therefore pleaded with Ghanaians to vote for him in the upcoming elections since he is the right person for the country in his view.

In a recorded video played at the launch of the party’s 2024 Manifesto launch at the Ghana Secondary Technical School in Takoradi Sunday, August 18,  2024, John Kufuor described Bawumia as a man of destiny.

“We are entreating the nation to give Bawumia a chance, I see him as a man of destiny particularly for the moment we are in now, I believe he is the man of the moment,” he stated.

Meanwhile, Majority Leader, Alexander Kwamina Afenyo-Markin, has indicated that he is confident Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, running mate to Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, will help transform the economy even if he is arrogant.

He lauded his exploits in rolling out the free SHS policy during his tenure as Education Minister when the programme’s implementation began and urged Ghanaians to vote for him and Bawumia since leadership has no correlation with arrogance.

“Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh was there at the Education Ministry. He led the rollout of the Free SHS. Somebody who was a Professor was there and said that the Free SHS was not possible.

“Today she says she is Literature Professor. Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh is ready to debate this Literature Professor. She should not run away.

“Even if you tag him as arrogant, we know you’ve done it to Akufo-Addo it didn’t work. He is ready to transform Ghana with his arrogance as running mate to the flag bearer to become Vice President,” he also stated at the launch.

Thousands of supporters of the governing NPP have gathered at the GSTS today for the launch of the party’s manifesto ahead of the 2024 elections.

The event followed the party’s mammoth health walk in the Western Regional capital of Sekondi-Takoradi yesterday, Saturday, August 17.

In a statement signed by the General Secretary of the NPP, Justin Kodua Frimpong Monday, August 05, 2024, an eleven-member committee was set up to plan for the execution of the event with Oboshie Sai-Coffie as Chair and Abena Asante serving as Secretary.
