The National Executive of the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) has called an Emergency General Meeting (EGM) to deliberate on the audited accounts of the Association.

The notice, issued on Monday, October 26, 2026, and signed by the General Secretary, Dominic Hlordzi, was issued pursuant to Article 35(a)(i) of the GJA Constitution, 2004.

According to the notice, the EGM was convened by a decision of the National Executive.

The meeting will be held at Ghana International Press Centre, Accra on November 6 at 11:00am.

Agenda:

1. Presentation and discussion of the audited accounts of the Association.

2. Any other matter that the National Council or a member may raise.

The National Executive has entreated all members of the Association to make themselves available and participate fully in the meeting.

The Executive said the meeting provides an opportunity for members to consider matters relating to the financial accountability and administration of the Association.

Background

The Ghana Journalists Association is the umbrella body for journalists in Ghana. Article 35 of its 2004 Constitution allows the National Executive to convene an Emergency General Meeting to deal with specific urgent matters.

An EGM to consider audited accounts is a key accountability requirement, giving members the opportunity to scrutinize the income and expenditure of the Association and to raise questions on its administration.

The November 6 meeting is expected to attract members from across the country to the Press Centre in Accra.
