The Member of Parliament for Tamale Central, Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed says Vice President and the flagbearer of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia should instead debate his record as the head of the economic management team.
He has challenged Dr. Bawumia to focus on reviving the economy instead of calling on former president and the 2024 presidential candidate of National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani, for a debate.
The Tamale Central legislature speaking in an interview with Onua News at the launch of the NDC’s campaign in Tamale questioned the credibility of Dr. Bawumia and his zeal to call for a pre-election debate with his main opponent.

He has challenged the NPP flagbearer to redeem his image by working hard to redeem the Cedi’s lost glory before he can debate Mr. Mahama.
“If you go to the market today, the prices of everything have gone up exorbitantly without any indication from the government to change it and he wants to debate former president Mahama”.
“He should go and debate his record and the fact that Ghanaians are starved instead of calling for a pre-election debate with his opponent who managed the economy well,” he reiterated.
On the issue of corruption, the Tamale central lawmaker emphasized that the NPP government is the most corrupt government in the history of Ghana.
He was quick to call on eligible voters in the country to cast-off the numerous promises by Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and vote out the NPP to rescue Ghana.
