The controversial evangelist who received dollar gift from Sammy Gyamfi has praised President John Mahama for being lenient with his benefactor.
In a video posted on her Instagram page on May 14, she thanked the President for his magnanimity towards Sammy Gyamfi.
“God of Thunder. God bless John Mahama,” she is heard shouting in the video.
Nana Agradaa stoked controversy when she was seen in a video that went viral snatching dollar bills from the Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Gold Board, Sammy Gyamfi, after he had given her a substantial amount.
Sammy Gyamfi’s kind gesture was queried by some members of the public who viewed it as a mark of opulence on the part of a public officer.
The outrage that greeted the viral video prompted the Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah to officially query Sammy Gyamfi. Upon receipt of the response and subsequent discussion, the President’s Spokesperson on May 14 announced that Sammy Gyamfi’s instant apology and the explanation offered leaves the Presidency with no further action to take on the matter.
“You would recall that when President Mahama launched the Code of Conduct, he said that one of the remedies for potential breaches is a public apology. He also said one of the potential remedies was a caution from the highest level of government. The Chief of Staff cautioned him, having acknowledged the apology and impressed on him to act in ways that reflect public expectation.
This news has sent Nana Agradaa into jubilant mode. Amid pouring of powder on her hair, she said, “I was very worried over this incident. My fear was that Sammy Gyamfi would lose his job because of this incident. But my God did not disappoint me. Haters have been shamed. John Mahama, may God give you long life. Oseyie! Sammy Gyamfi has become victorious. We thank Jesus,”
