Chief Executive Officer of Jonyah Agro Foods and Processing, Joseph Anyah has berated government for listing his company as part of its One District One Factory without making any financial commitment to it.
According to Mr. Anyah, he started his company in 2009 and has been producing natural drinks without the aid of government.
But for politicians to use his sweat to score cheap political points to amass power is a move he will not countenance.
“…And when we started work, we begun around 2009 producing ‘prɛkɛsɛ’ and pumpkin natural drinks and that’s the work we’re doing . And the truth is we’re the ones by God’s grace have been able to establish this work,” he told Captain Smart on Onua TV/FM’s Maakye Monday, December 5, 2022.
When Captain Smart quizzed if his business is in anyway affiliated to the One District One Factory, he said “please no, it is not a One District One Factory.”
When asked if he has heard that his has been listed as part of the One District One Factory, he said his MP, Owuraku Aidoo listed it without any financial commitment from the government.
He, however, indicated he is ready to partner with government to help him expand his enterprise to help him employ more hands to ease the unemployment situation in the country.
“If today the government and we all want to serve our nation through local production, so if the government decides to realise its vision we are all patriots ready to help that dream . And so if he contacts us today to use it as 1D1F and also add to it for the youth to get jobs through Jonyan Agro Foods and Processing we have no problem but something that does not exist and we claim it to be, when we hear that we will talk.”
He was further asked if he would want his company’s name to be expunged from the list of 1D1Fs in the meantime and he said “yes, currently it is not 1D1F.”
“Last year I won the Best Agro Food Processor in the whole nation . But for you to purport something that does not exist to be to claim power to go into Parliament , that is not something we will accept . We all love to serve our country,” he fumed.
