King Mswati III of Eswatini has been honoured with a big durbar of chiefs and people of Asanteman at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi on, Thursday, June 26, 2025.

The event is currently underway at the Manhyia Palace with traditional rulers under the Asante Kingdom trooping in one after the other.

The itinerary of the monarch’s visit to the country indicates that King Mswati III and his delegation would stay in the country from June 24-28, 2025, and they would attend a number of events.

On Wednesday, June 25, King Mswati III was officially welcomed at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi, by his host, the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.

He then toured the Manhyia Museum, then addressed the National House of Chiefs at Manhyia and visited the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) to end the day’s activities.

The main event, which is the grand durbar of chiefs and people of Asanteman, with the Asantehene sitting in state, is today ,26th,June,2025.

The event is expected to attract many people including chiefs, politicians and the general public.

Rich Asante culture is currently on display at the durbar whiles awaiting the arrival of Asantehene and his visiting King.

King Mswati III on Friday, would tour the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in Kumasi for him to acquaint himself with the academic activities of the top educational institution.

Later in the day, there would be a royal banquet at the Otumfuo Osei Tutu II Jubilee Hall in the Manhyia Palace to help entertain the visiting monarch and his entourage.

On Saturday, King Mswati III would join Otumfuo, who is the Chancellor of the KNUST, to attend the university’s congregation before he departs to Accra the same day.
