“There is no single imaging machine at the Greater Accra Regional Hospital”, Parliament’s Health Committee Ranking Member, Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, has alleged.
Mr. Akandoh has also claimed the 37 Military Hospital in Accra has no MRI machine, aside from blaming the NPP government for allowing the eight (8) dialysis machines they left at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital to remain with only one and a half functional ones.
Speaking on Onua FM’s afternoon political show, Pae Mu Ka, Friday, February 23, 2024, he criticised the government for deceiving Ghanaians with Agenda 111 whilst existing health facilities have no functioning machines.
According to him, government had better channelled the US$250 million earmarked for the supposed hospitals into equipping the existing facilities than commencing new projects which he says would not see the light of day.
The Jauboso lawmaker noted that he once disguised himself and sent a patient to the Ridge Hospital but there were no imaging equipments to take care of the person.
