A new poll conducted by Global InfoAnalytics has placed Hajia Amina Adams in a commanding lead ahead of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary primary in the Ayawaso East Constituency.

According to the survey, 58 percent of respondents indicated their support for Hajia Amina Adams, positioning her as the frontrunner in the race. Baba Jamal follows with 32 percent support.

The remaining aspirants trail with single-digit figures. Muhammed Ramne secured 5 percent, Dr. Yakubu Azindow polled 3 percent, while Najib Muhammed Sani garnered 2 percent.

Commenting on the findings in a Facebook post on Friday, February 6, 2026 , Executive Director of Global InfoAnalytics, Mussa Dankwah, said “However, the predictive model using delegates responses to the question of whether Hajia should not have contested due to Iddah shows Hajia still leads with 50% and Baba Jamal 38%, suggesting that the Iddah issue did affect Hajia but not significant to derail her chances. However, when delegates responses to the vetting issue was used, the predictive model puts Hajia on 54% and Baba Jamal on 35%.”

The NDC primary in Ayawaso East is scheduled for Saturday, February 7, and will determine the party’s candidate for the March 2026 by-election.

All five aspirants successfully cleared the party’s vetting process in late January at the NDC Greater Accra Regional Office, setting the stage for what is expected to be a competitive contest.

The upcoming primary is being closely monitored by party supporters and political observers, as the NDC prepares to contest the Ayawaso East seat in the forthcoming by-election.
