Former Member of Parliament for Asante Akyem North, Andy Kwame Appiah-Kubi, has hinted that Dr. Bryan Abbey Acheampong, the Member of Parliament for Abetifi, will contest for the flag bearer of the New Patriotic Party in 2028.
Appiah-Kubi asserts Bryan Acheampong is the only person who can unite the party’s divided fronts to secure victory for the NPP in the 2028 general elections.
Speaking to the media recently, the former lawmaker indicated that Acheampong will announce his ambition to the NPP and Ghanaians in due course.
He explained that the only thing the NPP lacks now is an effective leader who is a unifier, and that is what Bryan Acheampong brings to the table.
“Our vision of seeking a better leader to lead our party, the NPP, is on course, and the person is preparing. Very soon, he will come and speak up. I’m just his messenger, and the little I know is what I’m tipping you off – that Bryan Acheampong is experienced,” he disclosed in Twi.
He went ahead to tout the former Minister’s academic background, business prowess, and acts of philanthropy, which he says puts him ahead of all the others.
“His works exemplify his competence, looking at Rock City Company Limited, which belongs to him, being the biggest hotel chain in Africa. He is a very generous man and is currently supporting a lot of students at Achimota Senior High School.
“He has observed that the NPP needs unity, and he is the one who can bring the two sides together to rescue Ghana. It can only take an NPP government to develop Ghana, and we believe we can do better, and doing better is with Hon. Bryan Acheampong,” he added.
The former Asante Akyem North MP added that while some people in the party are touting themselves as academics, with others saying they are business moguls, Bryan Acheampong possesses both qualities, which make him the better person to lead the party in the next elections.
“When it comes to someone with intellectual capacity, he has it; when it comes to a business mogul, he is one. So, while others are touting themselves as business moguls and some academics, he is both, so we’re killing two birds with one stone. He is the symbol of victory,” he stated.
