Five persons, including the driver of a Sanyo vehicle, have lost their lives in a head-on collision at Asuoso on the Offinso to Techiman highway in the Ashanti Region.
The Tuesday, June 25, 2024 accident saw two other passengers rushed to a hospital at Nkenkensu for sustaining varying degrees of injuries.
The incident, which happened around 8pm occurred when the Sanyoug vehicle, driving towards Techiman, attempted to overtake a leading vehicle and in the process veered off its lane and collided head-on with a Kia Rhino truck which was heading towards Kumasi.
The driver of the Sanyoug vehicle died on the spot together with one other passenger on board the bus.
Three other persons later died on Wednesday, June 26, in the afternoon, at the Nkenkensu Hospital, bringing the total number of casualties to five.
