The consultant to Heal Komfo Anokye project, Kojo Darko Asante, has denied media reports that the committee in charge of the project has embezzled the funds.

He said the committee members have made judicious use of the funds raised so far.

Speaking on Ghanakoma morning show on Akoma 87.9FM in Kumasi with Sir John on July 25, the consultant to the project and committee member, Kojo Darko Asante, denied any misappropriation of funds intended for the Heal Komfo Anokye project, a hospital renovation initiative at Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in Kumasi.

In a statement asserting the integrity of those managing the project’s finances, he refuted any accusations of theft or misuse of donations.

The project aims to raise 10 million dollars to renovate the hospital’s facilities. Mr Asante said committee members will avail themselves for any investigation and ready to cooperate.

“We have not embezzled funds but rather made judicious use of the money raised. We are ready to account for any pesewa spent on Heal Komfo Anokye project,” he stressed.

He said the purpose of the project is to address the urgent need for infrastructural improvement in Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital.

Heal Komfo Anokye project has currently advanced to the second phase.

The newly refurbished wards are now being used by inpatients, and the focus is shifting to raising funds for the next stage of the project.
